Get In The Game!
It’s time you… Got in the Game!!! …… and the game is called Geocaching. Check it out at: BSA Get in The Game and at Geocaching.com. This year, the Scouts will probably be hearing a lot more about Geocaching, as it is working its way into our program.
We will be developing local “Scout Themed” caches in the Upper Cumberland, and many other Districts as well.
February 8th at the Jet Potter Service Center, there will be a “Flash Mob Event” or an “Event Cache” celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Scouting.
But the real purpose of this Post is to let you know that we are developing a new Venture Crew based around Geocaching.

Dr. Dan Swartling, or “Dr Dan2” as he is known in Geocaching circles is starting this new Crew.
The Crew will get together to find and to place geocaches in the local area.
Venturing is a co-ed program for youth 14 years old (and have completed the 8th grade), up to 20 years old.
If you have a son, daughter, or neighbor who needs to get outside and try this new “high tech” treasure hunting game, please have them fill out the youth application, and get it to Jeremy Belk.
If someone is already in the Scouting program, there is no additional registration fee, but they still have to fill out the application.
If they are NOT currently registered in the BSA, then the cost is $16.00 (the new BSA Registration fee).
We need some more folks to sign up, so send them to us.
