I would like to invite all Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venturing units to support our community through a Scout-driven cleanup of Cane Creek Park in Cookeville, TN.

Cane Creek Park has seen a lot of usage this year and quite a bit of litter has accumulated on the grounds to prove it. All Upper Cumberland District units are invited to join an effort to clean up the park on October 27th, 2012. We will be set up at the Hilltop Shelter from 9:00 to 11:00 AM to provide garbage bags and gloves and to direct packs, dens, troops, patrols, and crews to areas which need attention.

Participating in this service project could be counted toward the Journey to Excellence award for your unit. In addition, the project can provide an opportunity for individual rank advancement and open the door for special awards such as Leave no Trace, World Conservation Award, etc.
