Greetings UC Scouters,

 Beginning October 1st, Dan Fenlon will be the new UC District Commissioner. Dan had been approved to start in 2013 but is starting three months early since I am moving to Nashville. I was already scheduled to rotate off at the end of December.

 Please welcome Dan as our new District Commissioner!

 As a personal note, I have greatly enjoyed knowing all of you in our last ten years as scouters in the district. I have enjoyed all of my scouter roles — from scoutmaster to advancement chair to district commissioner — and will miss working with you here in the UC.

 Hopefully, we will retire (again) and move back to Cookeville. I have been asked to be the new dean of engineering at Lipscomb University so that makes moving necessary. As some of you know, I was on the engineering faculty of Georgia Tech in Atlanta before retiring from there.

 Please come to see Melissa and me in Nashville. We will truly miss you!
