Calling all new and “in need of training”/slightly used scoutmasters and assistant scout masters,

Boy Scout Leader Specific Training, better known as Scout Master training is an integral part of the scouting experience.  Leader specific training outlines what is expected of the leader, the patrol method of scouting in a boy lead troop, meeting components, The outdoor experience, paperwork, etc..  Everything you need to know but never knew you wanted to know……This is required of all those listed as Scout Masters or Assistant Scout Masters- along with OLS being offered this fall to be considered “trained”.  If wood badge is in your future.  this is a required training as well if you are a scout master or asst. sm.

For those of you who are in need of Leader specific training – it is planned and happening:

May 12th, 8:30 am till 5 pm at the Methodist Lake Lodge

Directions to Lake Lodge:

From Cookeville court house: 4.3 miles on East Spring Street/Hwy. 70 N, cross over I-40 on Hwy. 70 N and go 7/10 of a mile from the bridge and turn left onto an unmarked road (no street sign) or turn left at the next road which is Crag Rock Road. The Lake lodge is located at the end of the road at City Lake.

From I-40: Exit at 290 which is Hwy. 70 N and go east for 7/10 of a mile from the exit ramp and turn left onto an unmarked road (no street sign) or turn left at the next road which is Crag Rock Road. The Lake lodge is located at the end of the road at City Lake.

There will be a 45 minute lunch break.  Brink a sack lunch or you can go out and eat.

Cant wait to see you all there.  Show up, have a great time and get info you need to make the troop experience the best it can be for the scouts and you.
