How to make your service projects count for Journey to Excellence

Submitted by on November 18, 2011 – 12:40 PMNo Comment

All Packs, Troops, and Crews,

Since we’re nearing the end of the year, a good number of our Upper Cumberland units will be rechartering soon. As part of the recharter process, units will need to submit their Journey to Excellence forms, which includes a count of service projects performed during the year. I’ve been told by Council that service projects MUST be entered into the Good Turn for America website in order to be counted for Journey to Excellence.

The attached pdf file walks through the instructions for locating, registering for, and using the website. Multiple leaders can register to use the website for each unit, so that not all of the burden for each unit has to be on one person. Also, the website is actually fairly user-friendly and quick to use.

Before you start, however, you will need to contact either Council, or me, to the the unique ID number for your unit. This is NOT your unit number, as there can be many units across the BSA with the same unit number.

Please let me know if there are any questions,
