Hello Scouts, Scouters and families -

Your help is requested!

In a joint effort, several local organizations, including the Fraternal Order of Police, Cordell Hull Lodge #10 in Cookeville is asking for Scout support with a Holiday Food Drive.

We are asking Scouts, Packs, Troops, Crews, etc. to support the food drive for Christmas food boxes.  Please collect non-perishable food items such as canned goods, boxed foods such as instant potatoes, pasta, stuffing mixes, cake mixes, and icing; dried goods like rice or beans; individually packaged jello snack cups or pudding snack cups, or any other non-perishable foods.

Donated items can be brought to the old County Clerk’s office on the corner of Freeze and Washington Ave. on December 9, 2010 between the hours of 9a.m. and 2 p.m.  We will collect the donations, sort them and build Christmas food baskets for families in need.

This can definitely be considered a community service project, and any scout or scouter or family member that wants to lend a hand by helping put together the food and boxes is more than welcome!
