Urgent Message for Upper Cumberland Scouters and Unit Leaders:

John Harwood, TTU faculty member and associated with Caney Fork Watershed Association, is seeking immediate assistance on behalf of the community for planting trees/plants on Saturday, May 8 and May 15.

The May 8 project involves planting of 7 dozen plants/perennials at Cane Creek Park.
The  May 15 project involves planting 214 trees at the Cookeville Rain garden site on Fleming Street. These plants and trees have arrived and need to go into the ground.

Our youth, on the 100th Anniversary of Scouting, could have no better opportunity to perform community service hours, show environmental stewardship, participate in Scouting’s Good Turn for America, or even meet specific service requirements for some merit badges or activity awards.

Please contact John Harwood and let him know how your unit and youth can assist.
